Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy the book?

It is available from Lean business Audio and Amazon UK.

How much does it cost?

We have set the price to USD150. We believe this is a fair price for a 1070-page hardcover book of this scope.

To put it in perspective: A membership in the Audio Engineering Society costs $125. This gives you access to all the JAES articles and conference preprints. However, you have to find sort through all that information yourself, and many articles contain only a little unique piece of information. Additionally, there are literally hundreds of important articles in journals like JASA, JSV, Acustica etc. These articles cost from $5 to $30 apiece if you purchase them online. In addition comes the many books on loudspeakers and acoustics.

To sum up, the book gives you essentially an organized library of horn loudspeaker litterature, for a price much lower than what it would cost to assemble the information yourself. Not to mention that some of the information cannot be found anywhere else!

What does it contain?

Have a look at the table of contents.

Can I get a signed copy?

Come to one of our signing events that will be announced on this site.

What is the format of the book?

The printed paper format is A4 (210x297mm, or 8.3x11.7") with two column text. We felt that many of the unique photos deserved this size paper format.

Will there be an eBook version?

No, the book will be available as a printed copy only. Trust us: having worked with the electronic version of the book for several years, that format doesn't work very well for a book of this size. (So if you ever come across a pdf version (or other electronic format) of this book it's a pirated copy, and we hope you have the decency to buy the original.) Inevitable compromises with the large number of illustrations imply that many readers will find a magnifying glass useful here and there.
